to Southampton Hebrew Congregation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We are an independent Orthodox synagogue serving the city of Southampton’s Jewish community, including Jewish students at the University of Southampton and Solent University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The community meets for a number of Shabbat services throughout the year, as well as for festivals, simchas, special occasions and cultural events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following its refurbishment in 2024 our synagogue building is now a community centre for all Jewish social, cultural and religious events in the Southampton and South Hampshire area and is shared with the local Reform community (SHRJC). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attackS on Jews in Manchester and bondi BEACH<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Southampton Synagogue is grateful for messages of goodwill received<\/strong> following the outrages at Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester on Yom Kippur and at Bondi Beach in Australia at Chanukah. In addition, we have received messages of support from our MP Satvir Kaur, the City Council and local police force. We are grateful to all who sent these kind messages, or came to the synagogue to express solidarity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We resolve to stand firm against anti-Semitism and all forms of racism, and must not allow events elsewhere in the world to poison community relations in this country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our hearts go out to the families of Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz who were killed at Heaton Park, and all those killed in the attack at Bondi Beach.
